So how does Pole Fitness actually get you fit?

We start each class with a gentle warm up, moving on to some cardio/toning exercises to help build up your strength and prepare your muscles for the class ahead. Then we focus on doing moves on the pole. A lot of the moves require you to use your own body weight as resistance, as you progress you will see the benefits of becoming stronger you will accomplish moves you maybe could not do at first. From these techniques you will produce lean muscles, meaning you will avoid the bulk you may gain from using weights. We then conclude the class with a cool down, including stretches to help improve flexibility.

Do I have to be a certain fitness level before I come to a class?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions and no you do not! The whole point of coming to Pole Fitness, aside from having fun, is to get fit. The classes are adapted to your level, so even if you have never been to a gym or been on a jog in your life, don't worry! The classes are small enough so each member of the class is taught at their own pace and level. You don't have to be a certain weight, height, age or size. Pole Fitness is for everybody!

What should I wear?

We highly recommend you wear a gym top with shorts. This is because contact is needed from your skin to the pole to avoid sliding. The class is done mostly in bare feet, but if you'd like to wear trainers for the warm up you are more than welcome to.

Do I HAVE to wear shorts?

If you are really uncomfortable in shorts to the point it would stop you coming, we would recommend coming to a few classes in leggings to see how you find it. But to progress further, yes you will need to wear shorts.
